Penang Here I Come - Itinerary Planning

My last trip to Penang was two years back ... it is time to enjoy this wonderful Island again. Thanks to the Penang Government, I have been noticing more attractions and development are happening in Penang, so, this trip is more like a discovery trip for me ......

For the sake of planning, I am going to use this blog to record my trip itinerary, thank to google search engine and many bloggers who had contributed various write up about this wonderful island, finding new attractions no longer a problem .... yeah ...

First thing I want to know is the street art .... that why I am planting to stay at Cititel Hotel, it is just walking distance to access all these beautiful street art and heritage landmarks. For best information about the street art, the OnlyPenang is the best side whereby it had highlighted the location of various art, even it had talked about the artist who has contribute the work.

I even did a map for my photowalk in Geogetown ... look very far ( hope I can manage)

In order to make my life easier, i have recorded down some recommendations from OnlyPenang.com ....

“Little Girl in Blue” Mural, Muntri Street, George Town, Penang
“Children in a Boat” Mural, Chew Jetty, George Town, Penang
“Little Children on a Bicycle” Mural, Armenian Street, George Town, Penang

Beside the mural that I want to visit. Penang is food heaven, here are some links that I have searched which will guard me to look for delicious food ... wow .. can't wait to enjoy them ....

I think I better stop, time to sleep as I need to gain energy to drive to Penang ...

Yeah ... Penang ... here I come :)

Please stay tune ... more photo shooting will be shared in this blog ...

kekekeke .... yeah .... (like a kid running way ...... )

Tiong Nam Delight Encounter

Tiong Nam market is a wonderful place and is located behind Jalan Raja Laut, this place not only can get delicious breakfast but can meet some nice people.

This small market has approximately 20 over stores, everyone knows everyone, the market caters for the small Chinese community stay surrounding the areas.

Let imagine the nearby residents wake up every morning, do their usual marketing, walking around store to store for fellowship or morning gossiping .... everyone is so happy and contented with their life .... smiling faces can be seen easily ....

This is street shooters paradise, we can interact with them easily, somehow they are like friends. I love seeing you around.

I like to introduce the nasi lemak seller who has been selling there for almost 30 over years .... i found the nasi lemak is very delicious, business non-stop and customers need to queue for a while to get the food. Both husband and wife were very friendly and nice to talked with.

I enjoy their nasi lemak and their hospitality.

Yeow Chin Liang has a Polaroid camera, he took instant film photos to share with them. Friendship can be easily established, isn't it? Life can be enriched with just a simple gesture.

Like what my friend quoted "We made friend with the street people...we want more than just an image of them :) " ... well said, yeow Chin liang...

At the end of the road ... I turned around and saw a building that I worked there for seven years  ... Suddenly, an emotions just filling my body, a total of seven years I have been working there, I still can see my previous office window at the 32nd floor .... but time really fly .. almost one year had passed since I resigned from the company ..... ahhhhh!~~ ......

The end.

I am Nikon ?

It was a surprise visit to the Nikon Centre at the Time Square Shopping Mall after a Photowalk at nearby Imbi Road, we came in with a group of 17 BBG members (FB group called themselves Bang Bang Gang, film lovers). They are using vintage film camera with various model of FM3A, FE2, FM, FM2n, FE2, N90s, F55, 28Ti, 35Ti, F55 ....

Mr Alex, Nikon Centre Manager, was shocked to see so many film cameras. He cited that Nikon Film Camera Group is very much alive. With spontaneous response, Mr Alex gave everyone a Nikon T-Shirt and a Nikon wrist band. We were impressed with his kindness, the gift was small but the thought was great.

Well, some of you may think he gave T-Shirt as he wanted to take a group photo of us for publicity.... Yeah! So be it, we don't mind letting him to take a group photo for his store profile ...

hahaha ...

Some friends laughing at me as they knew I was a strong believer of Olympus Camera but they are joking I have switched camp ...

Well, for your information, I am just a simple guy who love photography .. for me, camera is just help to capture beautiful photograph, whether is Olympus, Canon, Nikon, Fijifilm etc ... it doesn't matter as long as it helps me capture beautiful shots.

There are quite a large collection of old film cameras. The cameras have arranged in a chronological order. I found the similar model of Nikon camera that my dad had passed to me. It was a FM model and born in 1977.

The photowalk was initiated by the BBG group of people, BBG stands for Bang Bang Geng, a FB group that promote the use of Film Camera. In the last TT, we were using the Olympus half frame EE camera, but this round, we were using the Nikon Film Cameras ...

Below is some photos that we have taken in the photowalk at Pudu, Imbi Road areas ...

We have found a nice abandon construction site near Imbi road. This place is full of graffiti. It has becoming famous shooting place for photo enthusiasts or even attracting wedding couple to come for their wedding shots.

Well, it was a fun day ...

Shooting Film is more challenging than to shot digital because it discourages us to shoot blindly, like what we used to do when we shoot with digital. Every shot is precious to us and we must make sure we frame correctly before we press the shutter button ...

If you have an old film camera, don't just throw it a side, get it fix and try to shoot again ...

Enjoy your Film Photography, if you own a film camera.

I am out again ... Memories of Klang

YES!! I AM OUT FINALLY!!

After staying home for almost a week, I found I am rusty inside. No working and no outing, merely sleep and eat and shit ....

Well, this is a no choice situation. I have a period of M.C for 10 days after I decided to remove one important organ in my body .... What !!?

WHAT!! REMOVAL OF BODY'S ORGAN !!

YEAP!! I just gone through an operation to remove my body's organ. I keep it as secret first until I am prepare to blog about it .... hehehehehe ... thank for your concern, I am fine now and after 10 days of resting and "rusty" at home. I am planing to go out for some shootings ....

It is fun to have street shooting and my photography buddies have been going out almost every week, I am so envious ...

Today, they're going for street shooting at Klang, I guess it is a fun trip and for sure, they will enjoy some famous Bak Ku Teh in Klang. However, after my operation, I couldn't walk too much so I didn't join them. I will join them for lunch only. At least to de-stress a bit after long stay at home.

Hai!! Since I couldn't make it, so I refresh my memories about this place by checking some old photos taken during my last trip to Klang ...

A boy that I meet in Klang, I was using my EPL2 with Pentax CCTV lens to capture him. I specially like this one because of the bokeh and the 3D feel.

As for the rest of the photo, I can't remember what lens that I use during that time.

I remember the shooting ground was near to the KTM Keretapi Train Station ... this shot was taken on the rail

It was a wet morning due to the heavy rain last night. I have the opportunity to shoot some refection photo and I like this .. I like this as it turned my friend upside down. Hahaha

In Klang, the obvious landmark that most people will shoot is the Klang's famous Mosque with the "Golden Big Onion" roof ...

In Klang, you can find many bridges but this bridge (don't know the name) is one of the popular one as it can overseeing the famous mosque. At the under-layer of the bridge were used by motorbikes and bicycles.

Haha!! Let check out the funny fellow showing off his popular famous split legs ballerina act. Brovo, Yeow.

Hahahaha.

I think the above photo is too small, so I crop to make it bigger ... LOL

 ke! ke! ke! ke!

Wow .. I believe my photo buddies are in Klang now shooting ... this photo remind me of their fun side.

On top of the bridge .. you can find nice landscaping for people to relax and hang around.

Not far from the bridge, if you travel further, you will end up at the Little India of Klang.

How can I missed out shooting people at the street?... taken photo of people is a must in street shooting ... don't worry, people at the Little India are Super Friendly.

People there are friendly and easy interacting with them. Look at this Indian brother ... he can't resist and wanted to take photo with our cameras ... hahahaha

Look at KY... Don't know what made him so happy ....

Not far from the Little India, you can find Mosques, Chinese and Indian Temple and Church.

the Chinese temple .....

and also an India Temple ...

Ops ... forgot to take the photo lah ....

hehehehe

After a hard day of shooting .... I have to end the trip earlier as I have another appointment (Actually Visa is expiring), I leave my friends behind and they continue their photowalk. Hahahaha!!

Before I leave, we sit down in a nearby store to have some drinks.

Wow, how wonder of memory!! ... photography is the best way of bringing back old memories ... it reminds us the fun time we had for a long-long time.

That one Chinese Proverb saying....

"Looking at the Plum to stop the Thirst"

Hahaha ... Although today I couldn't join them for the photowalk at Klang, but by writing this blog, it was like time traveling and bringing me back the old memories of my photowalk in Klang.

Hahaha...

Ops .... it is getting late, I will meet them for lunch later... better leave now, otherwise, I will be late ....

bye and see you next round.

THE END.
